Child support is calculated using both parties’ incomes. So, both mom’s and dad’s income is used. The number of children is also taken into consideration, so however many children the parties have together. If either of the parents has a child who is not a child of the parties, a non-joint child is what we call it, they get a credit for that. So, that’s also taken into consideration in the calculation.
And, the calculation is made up of basic child support, medical support, and child care support. So, child care expenses and medical expenses are also considered in the calculation.
